Cocoa butter vs Vit E

I live in Wyoming, and it has a very dry climate, so I have already started putting lotion on daily to help reduce the chances of stretch marks. I've been using a cocoa butter with Vit E, but I have people telling me mixed things, either it works or, or I should just use Vit E oil by itself. Does anyone have any advise on which works? Just curious.

  • i have a friend who was barely 100lbs when she got pregnant with TWINS.  both her mom and sister had stretch marks really bad.  she put Palmers coco butter AND a vit E oil on everyday...and swears it did the trick!  not one stretch mark!

  • I used cocoa butter daily for my first pregnancy and not one stretch mark until 36 weeks and bam there they were. So, from my experience you can try it and hope it works but if you are going to get them you are going to get them not much you can do about it. Pregnancy has not improved my body that is for sure!

  • With DS I used the Vaseline lotion with cocoa butter and vitamin E in the morning; and Burt's Bees Mama Bee at night (which I also think has both).  I never got a single stretch mark.  I'm planning on the same regimine with #2.

I also did cocoa butter daily with my DD and the last week got stretch marks. This time around I'm doing the organic oils day and night. Using erba organics. HTH

  • I used cocoa butter and shea butter all over my body and didn't get any stretch marks. I also used baby oil when I got out of the shower a few times a week (and then put the lotion over it).  My DH would tease me that I was like a butter ball turkey. I'm going to do the same protocol this time.
  • Thanks for the advise, it helps me alot.
