Towels

Just curious if people recommend buying the special baby towels (like they sell at BRU) or if you just ended up using regular sized towels? The ones at BRU just seem so thin and cheapy so I wasn't sure if I should waste money on them or not?

Re: Towels

  • I was seduced by the adorable hoods and animal prints. Baby towels are thinner than the other kind, it's true, but I actually look on that as a plus, because it's easier to grab the baby through them and get into all the baby's little crevices (between toes, etc.) When I washed them, they were just as soft as my normal towels.

  • I bought some from RH that are thick, absorbent and adorable. I also got the frog prince ones from Carters and they seem to be decent quality.  I have noticed plenty at Target and BRU that are cheap and scratchy.

  • The Koala Baby brand from BRU hold up really well, we have a cute puppy one that we've had through 3 kids and it still looks good and hasn't frayed. The Carter's look pretty well made too.
  • I got a TON of those hooded towels for shower gifts with DS.  Seemed like everyone thought they were so cute.  So I say don't buy any of those for yourself.  Also, I really didn't think they were very good anyway.  They were too small and too thin- we always ended up having to use a regular towel anyway b/c he was so cold after a bath- his little lips quivered.
