Pregnant after IF

If you plan to EFF

I know unsolicited advice doesn't always go over well but, I have to share this as I was completely caught off guard by my boobs post delivery.

I am a big time planner and planned for everything - except for my boobs and my milk coming in - no clue why I never thought about it ? but it never so much as crossed my mind.

So, if you plan to FF from the get go, bring a super tight sports bra to the hospital and put it on ASAP.  I didn't put any type of binding on until 2 days post delivery and I really think that is one reason why my milk came in so much.

Also, ask your doctor to order breast binding for you.  It is just a big ace bandage that they will use to bind your chest but it will help.

When you take your first shower don't let hot/ warm water get on your boobs as it just makes it worse.

Being engorged sucks but know that it will pass!  It took me 7-8 days to feel not so engorged but I hear that is on the long side.

I just wanted to make sure some of you were more prepared that I was!

  • Thanks for posting this!  I will likely be EFF, and my c-section is scheduled for this Friday.  I hadn't thought about putting a sports bra in my hospital bag, but will throw one in tonight.  Did you have to go a size up?  My sports bras are all in my pre-pregnancy size.  I may need to go out and pick one up tonight or tomorrow.

You want it tight but still need to be able to put it on!  I would buy a cheap one in a size up just in case your boobs get super engorged (mine were HUGE - like up to my chin no joke).

Thanks!  I'll run out tomorrow and pick one up.
