Different spelling for mn Diane

I am hoping you ladies can help me with this:

My mom's middle name is Dianne, she gave me the same middle name but spelled it Diane. I would like to pass this middle name on to my child if it's a girl, but I would like to change the spelling to keep that tradition going as well. Is there any other (classy) way to spell Diane?

I have checked out various name sites, but I haven't had any luck.

I'm 100% sure the only way to spell Diane is Diane.

What don't you like about the spelling? Have you considered using Diana?

I vote for the comment of the other post. Go back to Dianne. It honors your mother and then there's a sort of "skipped generation" factor going on.

Dianne, Diane, or Diana. I think that's about all the ways you can change it without making it look dumb (like Dyane :P)

I agree with PPs. The only way I'd change it from Diane is if I were going to use Diana.

The only other possible way I can think of would be to drop the "e" from your mom's spelling and use Diann, but I think that looks stupid.

I agree with PPs that you should go back to Dianne. Then if your daughter keeps up the tradition she could use Diane. It could be an every other generation tradition!

I'd stick with Diane. If you are interested in changing the name, rather than the spelling, I'd go with previously suggested Diana or Dina/h.

I love this idea.

However, Dyan Cannon spells her differently. If you're doing it to honor your mom, use her spelling.

I have seen Dyan a lot too. I am not a fan but it is a somewhat common spelling. But I agree that you should go back to Dianne to honor your mother.
