That only 8% of women actually have their water break? For some reason I thought that it would be more... just thought Id share the random daily fact from my pregnancy app...

    Yeah, normally it won't break on its own until transition or right before. Crazy!

    Yea I heard slightly higher like 10% but still, it seems like so many people on here have their water break.

    damn, I was hoping mine would break so I wouldn't have to time contractions. bahaha...guess I better learn how. :(

    I just told Dh about 10 minutes ago that I will be refusing to go to the hospital until my water breaks. Embarrassed Time for a new plan. Thank you for posting this!

    I thought it was 15%, but no matter - I am definitely amazed at how low the number is!

    I've heard that contractions become much more intense after the water breaks, soI would be stoked if my water didn't break until transition!

    I kind of hope my water doesn't break.  I plan on working up until the end and am terrified of it happening at work.

    ETA:  Also, I had no contractions until an hour or two after it broke.

    I would think you could use that as a threat... DO MY PERINEAL MASSAGE OR IW ILL BREAK MY WATER IN YOUR FACE! haha! Ok that was gross

    Don't worry too much, for me it did happen at work, but it wasn't like you see on TV, it felt like just a little bit, like when your body is cleaning it's self.  It didn't REALLY start gushing out untill I was at home in the shower a hour later.

    My OB broke my water about 2 minutes before DS #2 was born. lol.

    I am actually very relieved by this statistic.  I would be mortified if it noticably happened in front of a patient...
