Follow-up to telling my dying G-ma

So I called and told her on Friday.  On Saturday I went to visit and she told me that she was really happy for us.

She told me that her doctor informed her last week that 70% of people with her diagnosis wouldn't live until Easter.  She's planning on hosting Christmas and Thanksgiving this year for my whole extended family.  It's really sad, but at least we get to say goodbye to her.

I'm praying she will live past Easter and get to meet my baby; but I don't want her to suffer anymore then she has to.

  • I'm so sorry - that has to be so tough!  I'm sure she is thrilled about your new lo and I, too, hope she gets to meet him/her.  Enjoy your time with her and take gentle care of yourself. ((hugs))

  • Grandma sounds like a trooper!  I mean she's planning to host holidays?  Thats a lot of work!!  If she keeps he energy and spirits that high you never know, she just might make it.  Try to stay positive!  I know she's excited!!!

  • Thanks ladies!  I know she is one strong woman.  I just hate to see her suffer.
