My nose has been waking me up

I wish I didn't hate the way food smells right now. Since last Monday, I cannot stand the smell of food. Any food.

Last night I made dinner and I sauteed some scallions with red pepper flakes and garlic and the house STILL smells like scallions. It's so strong that I thought it was actually IN my nose, so I showered again this morning and I am still smelling it. We have tile throughout our house so I cannot figure out where it's coming from, but last night, it woke me up at 2 AM and I couldn't go back to sleep. It just smelled like cooking food... I grabbed my dog and burrowed my nose in her fur. Today I've microwaved a lemon in water, lit incense, sprayed air freshener and nothing is helping.

Does this happen to you? Food cooking doesn't really seem to bother my too much while it's cooking, but I can't stand the smell of strong onions and food for days after I've finished cooking it. Ugh.. Gross. 

I'm hoping this will pass soon. Thanks for any thoughts, experiences you can share.

    YES!!  DH made bacon yesterday and the entire house smelled of bacon until this morning when it made it again!  I went to get a water from the fridge and said, "it still smells like bacon in here."  DH calls me his "Golden Retriever" because my scense of smell is so hightened!

    The smell of my dog's food makes me want to barf.  I've never smelled it before now but it is ridiculous.

    Also, I was woken up last night because a skunk sprayed somewhere in our neighborhood.  Stupid nose - stupid skunk - and DH couldn't even smell it.

    This happened to me last week...  DH gets up super early for work and I'm usually a very sound sleeper.  Believe it or not, the smell of his aftershave woke me up because it was hitting my poor nose like toxic waste fumes.  And he even put it on in the bathroom down the hall!  Just from those 5 minutes he was in the room with the aftershave on, I had to go downstairs because I couldn't take it.  I felt bad asking him to nix the aftershave for a while, but I defintely don't want to go through that again.
