I need to shop for my new baby. We do need to get a new infant carseat and I'll probably opt to use a double stroller this time around, but other than that we don't need much and we'll wait on those items since DH will get a bonus around the time she is born. So in the mean time... I have new Old Navy onesies, new baby legs (this is our first winter newborn) and aden + anais swaddling blankets on my list. Anything else I should check out?
ETA: I should add that we don't do the typical nursery prep for our newborns. We've used a co-sleeper for an extended period (my preference) and we'll do that again and make a room for her later on... so I don't have any of that to do until next year.
I was thinking of getting a little mobile (maybe a Tiny Love mobile) to attach to the co-sleeper but I haven't seen one of these in person. Would it attach to the co-sleeper?
Re: Fun baby items?
FYI - I found out yesterday that the Aiden + Anais blankets at BRU (& maybe at Target) are the "generic" brand of their blankets. The ones they sell on their website (and that you can also find on Amazon much cheaper) are made much better! I LOVE my blankets - we have 12 already!
Edit: Actually, the BRU ones aren't that bad. I just prefer the "non-generic" ones.
Thanks for the tip!
I remember you saying you went to test drive (and maybe bought) the Baby Jogger City Mini. Since I'm going to break down and use a double stroller this time around (I always just used a single stroller and baby carrier with Ava and Charlotte) this is the one I'm interested in. Where can I test drive one (even if it's just a single) and where is the the best place to buy one (if there's a better place to buy one)? Thanks!
I have the City Elite. I LOVE it. I bought ours at AlbeeBaby.com. I'd check BabyCatalog.com too. I know BabyCatalog has a membership program and sometimes you can stack a current coupon with their membership discount. (I just tried and if you sign up for the trial membership plus us BABY10PCT it brings it down to $323.99 with free shipping). Let me know if you have problems!
Treehouse Kids sells them and I believe they have a double on the floor.
Do you have a carrier (ie, ergo or moby?)
My very favorite swaddle blanket is from Swaddle Designs - it's the pink with brown circles from BRU. It's warmer and stays swaddled much better than the adan + anais ones I got at Target. I really want a few more.
Our Tiny Love mobile wouldn't fit on our Arm's Reach mini co-sleeper because the mobile locks on between crib rails - I don't know where on the co-sleeper you could attach it.
Do you have a white noise machine?
