restaurant for 1st b-day?

Our house is way too small.  DH friend can cater the party in a restaurant.  We would have a room all to ourselves but some people might be out at the bar.  I can have a magician and the 5-7 kids or so can run around a bit.  It will be short.  Is this a dumb idea?  I know the owner of the place.  It will only be 2+ hours.  Food buffet and then the magician and singing and cake. 

Doable?

The kids are two under a year, two about 2, one 3 year old, one 4 year old, and possible some kids over 7 maybe 2.

    our plan is to have her first b-day at a restaurant ?. . we have to, because we can't fit anyone in our house and we don't have outdoors, because she was born in Feb ?We are using the same restaurant that we used for her christening. ?it was 4 hours and everyone had a good time and a blast. .?

    ive been to several held at restaurants.....im beginning to think restaurants are a good idea.....no CLEANING after!
