Winter Outerwear

I am having a heck of time finding something for my LO to wear this winter.  He'll be a year in Dec.  So I guess a couple of questions for you more experienced mothers!  He's not walking yet, but he's standing with help and I  know he'll be walking before 1 year.

1.  What do you recommend?  A full suit or jacket and snowpants?

2.  Where is the best place to get outerwear?  I swear everywhere I look is either $80 or they have 1 jacket and that's it.

Thanks Ladies!

Re: Winter Outerwear

  • kohl's usually has good prices on outerwear.

Just be careful what you use in the car seat. Most of what is safe for car seat use is not going to be warm enough for playing out in the snow use. And most of the snow suits will not be thin enough to be safe for use in the car seat.

  • I did a coat and snowpants last year when LO was right about that age. The coat I got at Once Upon a Child and they had a pretty big selection of outerwear for good prices. The snowpants I got at Target. That way when we were just going somewhere she could wear the jacket, and honestly the snowpants only got worn maybe 3 times. We didn't take her outside playing a lot, which is what she would have worn those for.

This year we'll get out a lot more, and I have the same thing for her.
