Anyone know how much Tylenol we can take?

I picked up some sort of virus from DD. My body hurts SO bad - they are very intense flu-like aches. Two Tylenol at a time are barely making a dent - is it OK to take more, or is that the limit? TIA.

Two ex-strength are okay so up to 1000mg.

call your doc, even if he/she is unavailable they should have someone on-call who can tell you what's safe or not.

You're not supposed to take more than two at a time pregnant or not. I believe you can stagger tylenol and ib profen (sp?) though.

Everything I've been told is according to package directions. No more than 12 a day of the regular strength.

This can be done and it works well but you shouldn't be taking ibuprofen in pg.

LOL...that is so true. I was told 2 xtra strength tylenol and take them according to what the bottle says.

Over 4 grams (4,000mg) is considered damaging to the liver and stomach. Regardless of pregnant or not, you should not take any more than 4 doses of Extra Strength Tylenol per day---which is considered 2-500mg caps in each dose, every 6 hours. Motrin isnt recommended for pregnancy, but benefits usually outweigh the risks--and your OB may OK if while youre sick. Feel better soon!
