Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Does this mean she's not ready for only 1 nap?

I have been trying to hold her off so she can take one nap. Once I put her down at 12ish she sleeps for maybe 45 minutes-1 hour then wakes up and wants to go back down a few hours later. Keep at it? Or keep the 2-nap schedule awhile longer? Thanks=)

Re: Does this mean she's not ready for only 1 nap?

  • at about a year DD dropped to one nap at day care, generally at 1:00 (after lunch).  But it took 4 or 5 months to really kick in.  Sometimes she would just need to nap at 11 - if she got super fussy and tired, day care would put her down and she would really crash.  Now at day care she naps 1-3, but on the weekends, with us, especailly if we are out and about, she might do 2 naps (2 car naps that is :) ).  I say let her set the tone and put her down when you can tell she is tired.
