Due in March, January shower...

I planned on having my shower late in January, but my grandparents will be out of town after the 2nd week in January until after the baby is born. We decided to move the date so my grandma can be there. We planned for January 16, but the hall was booked. The only weekend that was available was January 9. That's 2 weeks after Christmas. Do you think that people will be put off by that? I know times are tough, especially during the holidays. I just don't want to have it any earlier, and I hate the thought of my grandma not being able to make it.

I had my bridal shower the first week of January and still got tons of stuff! I think that date is fine!

Nope, my first shower was around that same time (the 10th I think) and my second shower was the 27th (a month before my due date). If you get the invites out a few weeks before Christmas, guests who need to budget for your gift will do so.
