I just wish TSA would be consistant. Every airport changes the rules. We were able to carry applejuice in C's sippy onto the plane in seattle if they tested it yet coming home from disneyland at john wayne they absolutely would not let us bring it. Really stupid if you ask me!
That sounds like a staffing issue, not something we all need to get up in arms about. There are bad/uninformed staff members in every company.
THIS! I find "I want to speak to your supervisor" to be helpful in these situations. The best thing for travelers is to be informed of their rights. And use that to get your way with the supervisors. As someone who used to travel for work, you ran into tons of idiots running the security areas.
DH-NOA confirmed with TESE, ME-Unexplained
After 1 Miscarriage, 6 IUI's, our little miracles are here. Proud Parents of Twins.

Exactly. And the bolded part is pretty scary considering we're relying on these people to "keep us safe".
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
I agree with PPs. Sorry if this sounds mean, but she sounds like kind of a pushover. If she wanted the pat down and knew she was entitled to it, she should have stood up for herself. Sure it sounds like the TSA agents were being total a$$hats, but to burst into tears because of it...just seems overdramatic.
Kiltlifter had it right, just ask for a supervisor, that usually gets people in check.

I agree, when you're a parent you have to be strong enough to insist on what is best for your child. Although, pregnancy hormones being what they are, it doesn't surprise me at all that she cried. I might have cried, too...but I would have refused to go through the scanner.
The San Diego airport had the full body scans in place when we were there last week. I told DH that there was no way I was letting the kids go through it. When we got to the front, the security personnel diverted us through the metal detector instead. They didn't even ask us to go through it with the kids. Which is a good thing, because there was no way I was going to let that happen.
