Do you invite the minister to the reception? Should I send him an invitation or just let him know at the service? TIA! I'm new to this and wanting to do it right!
We didn't do formal invitations, but we did invite the minister .. he declined, but I think it's a nice gesture.
(our church also does all baptisms the first sunday of every month, so there were a fair number of babies getting baptized; probably made it even harder for him to accept an invitation)
I'm hardly the one to answer, seeing as I'm not Christian, but DH is and LO was baptized. The priest who baptized her married DH and me and is fairly close to DH's family. We invited him, casually, ahead of time but he couldn't make it.

Yes you should invite him.
We let him know ahead of time so he could make plans.
