Birthday Gift for 6-year old Girl?

Bday parties are starting in Sam's class, and I am clueless of what girls are into at this age.  I know the typical Hello Kitty stuff (or as Hannah calls it, Hello Good Kitty), Barbie, etc., but any other ideas?  She has an older brother and sister, so she probably has plenty of toys, so any non-toy ideas would be great too.

Thanks!

  • Lol at "Hello Good Kitty"....that Hannah.

Buying presents for kids with older siblings, especially the same sex always stress me out, cause I assume the have everything already. I've been giving bubble bath with a towels lately for 3 year olds, do you think it would work for a 6 year old....lol?

  • The question would be is she a girly girl or more of a tom boy? I would see about bracelets (the new ones that are shapes when you take them off), hair bows, and books.
  • She's girly, but not overly so.  Rarely wears hair bows or anything.  She is in love with Sam and totally mothers him.  It's the sweetest thing.  If I have to go pick him up from class early, she'll run and get him, and help him get his things together...she's just the cutest little girl.

The bracelets are a great idea.  Books might be a good one too, especially since she's Australian and won't necessarily have the typical books American kids have on their bookshelves.  And Jamican, your bubble bath idea is a great one.  Pampering products would probably be great.  A purse perhaps, and kid nail polish...

    Thanks for the ideas!

  • Well Elena, who just turned 5, is WAY into arts and crafts.  And well, still Disney Princesses, but that depends on the girl.  She got lots of craft projects for her birthday and was in little-girl HEAVEN

  • Thank you!  Ayers, I am totally saving that list in a file.  There will be many more bday parties this year, so I can just go back to it.  :)
