PSA: Stride Rite

I just went to the outlet and bough 2.. count them.. 2 pairs of shoes for DS for $43.

Each pair was $19.99 or less. Now that's my way to shop.

Re: PSA: Stride Rite

  • I am not looking forward to getting Mason shoes. So much money for three inches of shoe. Plus he just hates things on his feet.

  • Is that really a good price for toddler shoes?  Are Stride Rites just that good?

This is not meant to be snarky in any way.  I really am clueless.  DS owns one pair of flip flops I got off of mamabargains, and he's worn them all of once.  I obviously need to start thinking about shoes because he just started walking this week.  I can normally find a pair of tennis shoes for myself at the Nike/Adidas outlet for around $35, so $20 just seems expensive for tiny little shoes.  Like I said, I know nothing though.  Enlighten me.

That's what I was thinking. I don't even pay that much for my own shoes. You would think since baby shoes are so tiny they wouldn't cost a ridiculous amount.
  • IMO it's a decent deal. DD wears Robeez most days (I buy them EUC off Ebay most times or with Amazon GC's) and they run about the same :)

We also save everything for hand-me-downs (I will have 3u3)

  • Yeah I think it's crazy how much shoes are for infants and toddlers. The cheapest pair I have found is $10 on sale this week at JCP.  Otherwise the average I see is $15. It's crazy when they only wear the shoes for a few months. I like to keep an eye on craigslist and at garage sales.

  • I was lucky enough to find a pair of Stride Rite shoes for DD at Marshalls for $15!  Most of the baby/toddler shoes at places like Target are between $12-17 and they have a lot of cute options!
  • That is a pretty good deal for Stride Rite, but I've been finding practically brand new pairs (Stride Rite) on Ebay for under $12 (most of them I've paid $8-$10). He needs good shoes because he's SO busy and ruins anything that's cheaply made, but I'm cheap and can't see paying $20+ on a pair of shoes that he'll wear for a few months.
