what did you use? did you like it?

H will not use condoms. id rather not be on the pill-most days i forget to eat let alone take a pill every time the same day. i am breast feeding so i know this delays getting your period but with my luck ill get knocked up again right away which i am not ready for right now! we are planning to TTC again at the end of 2011...holy crap that sounds like a long time away.

when my midwife asked this question of me at my 6week pp visit - I laughed in her face (after our years of IF problems). Apparently we will now need some after this LO arrives.

I have no problem just going back on the pill until I hit menopause.

I'm no help - this is most likely our one and only biological child, so DH will be getting snipped not too long after we deliver.

We used Natural Family planning. DH knew if he wanted sex he was going to have to suit up.

I have a paraguard IUD. No hormones, just copper. It was fairly painless to have put in and I haven't had any issues at this point. I am still BF and haven't had a period yet, I am slightly concerned that I might have debilitating cramps like I had pre bc pills once my period returns, but I was not convienced of the mini pill's effectiveness, my dr's office does not do mirena IUD's any longer, and I did not want to deal with possible supply issues with regular bc pills.

I used the mini pill, it sucked and I started spotting days after taking it. I keep spotting for 2 months. Crying

Now we are using NFP becuase we plan to start trying in a couple of months. I'm not much of a help!

Hormones did wacky things to me post childbirth. I tried Depo and TriCyclen Lo (both of which I had been on before with no issues), but after the kids I couldn't take it. I went for the Paragard and haven't had any issues-- I got it at 7m pp with Maddie and right away with Jack. I got pregnant right away after it was removed too, so we didn't have any issues with that either.

i will never do depo again. in one month i would swing from a size 6 to a 10 for no reason. it wasnt until i stopped depo that i realized why my weight was wacky.

Same here, we switched to Encare shortly before TTC and I noticed less morning after leakage with that brand.

I got Mirena and love it. We're on roughly the same TTC #2 schedule as you, and to me it was worth the investment to not have to think about BC at all. Plus, it's awesome so far. No periods, the lightest of light spotting only every once in awhile, no impact on my BF supply, hardly any cramping. Sooo worth it.

Random aside: did you post a birth story? I remember you posting on the NB board, but don't remember hearing your outcome. I hope it went well for you.
