Re: Need Dinner Ideas...What Are You Having?

  • I have no idea what I'm having (gotta go to the grocery store after work), but when it's cold & rainy I like to make things like pot roast, beef stew, etc.

  • Homemade eggplant parm with some whole wheat pasta and a salad...oh and some garlic bread.  I made bread today and it's just begging for garlic.

  • We are going the super easy route tonight and having a big chicken Caesar salad (we bought it in a bag last night, just adding in the chicken.) I started craving salad a few weeks ago and now DH likes having it more often too, so we're trying to eat better by doing it every so often.

  • DH is picking up some salads from Zaxby's.  I can't get enough of those lately!
  • I'm not sure for tonight, but last night I made chicken piccata, broccoli risotto, and steamed garlic veggies. I served it family style because we had guests, and everyone kept going back for more!
  • My DH is making grilled chicken sammies with sauteed onions and provolone! :)
  • chili and cornbread-perfect for a chilly overcast evening!

Love how CT is 90 degrees one day, 60 the next!

  • We are having Mac n Cheese and carrots, but chicken and dumplings sounds great for cold weather!

I love this temperature!! Jeans and long sleeve shirt weather is my favorite-I would be so happy if I never saw another 90+ degree day again!

Will you come cook for me?!?  Hehe!  I usually love to cook, but lately I'm not in the mood, but it's still insanely hot here, so that has a lot to do with it, not to mention my swollen ankles don't really like my tiled kitchen floors.  As for dinner tonight.... grilled chicken thighs, baked (rather grilled) potatos, and a bag of cesar salad, and cookies that I'm making (not from scratch).

I do too, I just hate how our weather is so schizophrenic!  I bet we haven't seen the end of 90's until October. It was so hot this summer :-(

  • We're feeling lazy and ordering pizzas.  But if I was going to cook tonight, it would have been chicken enchiladas :)

Well, to be fair it was probably the first good meal I've made in months! I used to cook like that every night, but I've been so tired and nauseated that it's difficult to.

If you ever decide to redo your kitchen floor check out the Pergo styles that look like tile. We have it in our kitchen, and it looks gorgeous but is easy to clean and easy on your feet. The previous owners of our house had two young children, so they definitely redid the kitchen with a family in mind :)

  • It's cool outside here, too, so we're having homemade chicken tortilla soup with cheese quesadillas.  I may make some Jiffy corn muffins on the side, too, since I've been craving them lately!

  • We're only dreaming of cold weather down here in Texas!  It's still 90 degrees and humid.  Anyway, we're having ribeye steaks, baked potatoes and salad.

  • Leftover spaghetti.  We've had some form of pasta almost every night for the past two weeks because we're trying to use up all of the noodles and canned goods in our cupboards.  I normally love pasta, but I'm over it now!  We have about 2 more meals worth of cupboard-shopping and then it's off to the store for some real groceries.  I can't wait!
