What do you think of the name Corinne?
How do you pronounce it? (will it always be mis-pronounced)?
Is it too grown up for a little girl?
Will it automatically be shortened to Cori?
My H does not like ANY girl names so far, but told me the other night he thinks COrinne is a pretty name. NOt sure what I think of it......
And our DS is Christian--
Is Christian and Corinne too matchy-matchy/cutesy??
Re: girl name advice needed!
I think I'd pronounce it "core-inn", emphasis on the "inn".. I like it!
I can see how some people might prounouce it "core-een" though.
I don't think it's too grown up. I'd be more worried about some of the cutesy names that are popular these days, and how they'll sound for an adult, honestly.
I don't think it would be automatically shortened. Though Cori (Corey) is a name I really like that DH shot down. :-)
I don't think it's too matchy matchy with Christian..
GL!
I really like it! I don't think it is too grown up for a little girl.
I pronounce it (core- in) like apple core and in from into. I do think it has the potential to be misspelled just because it isn't the most common name.
I wouldn't have thought of the nickname Cori, but I do like that as well.
I don't think those names are too matchy. I think they go together well!
I would pronounce it cor-RIN. But, I also know someone who pronounces it "Korean."
Personally, I like the name and had it on my list, but DH vetoed it. And, no I don't think it's too cutesy to have both names start with a C.
What do you think of the name Corinne?
I think it's really pretty.
How do you pronounce it? (will it always be mis-pronounced)?
I initially thought of "Cuh-RIN" It might be mis-pronounced some, but it's not a hard name to say though.
Is it too grown up for a little girl?
The only think I worried about when finding a name was if it was going to be too "little girlish" for a woman. I think people forget that their child is one day going to put their name on a resume or job application one day. I think Corrine is great for a little girl and when she gets older.
Will it automatically be shortened to Cori?
I would have never thought of Cori.
Is Christian and Corinne too matchy-matchy/cutesy??
I definitely don't think they're too cutesy.

I really like it. I had it on our list for a while before narrowing it down to a few other names.
I say it Core-Inn. I don't think it would be automatically shortened. Cori didn't even enter my mind. I have a co-worker named Corinne and thats what she is called. No nicknames.
Thank you all for your input! I think it will go on the list (although I don't know if I can call it a list if there is only one name
)
I am not a big nickname person, so I think it would drive me crazy if people were calling her Cori----glad to hear most people did not automatically think of that as a nickname.
Cor-inn is how we'd pronounce it, although it is pronounced both ways (Cor-inn and Cor-EEN) I think cor-EEN is more French in derivation.
OHHH!! I am totally partial to this name - it's my middle name. I think it's a beautiful name and am debating using it for a middle name if DC turns out to be a girl.
It's always been pronounced "Corr-Inn" or "Kor-Inn". Not many people have had to say my middle name, but those that have have never mispronounced it. I don't think it would be shortened to Cori either. Definitely not too grown up for a little girl.
