Trying to Get Pregnant

*sigh* yet another "what should I do with this?" post from me

Regular temp time is 5:45 (was 4:45 for several days, but then I realized my schedule was no longer changing for this week only, so I went back to the usual 5:45; back to 4:45 next week).

DH set an alarm that he knew he wouldn't wake up to, so I woke up at 5 after 2.5 hours of sleep and temped. 97.33, massive temp drop. Promptly went back to sleep, woke to at 5:45, temped again just to make sure. 97.86?!

Not sure what's going on there. I've noticed that the usual consensus is to use whatever you get at your usual temp time, but it seems like something's unreliable about a .53 jump in 45 minutes.

I tested with a FRER (shaaaame) and I think I made myself see a nearly invisible line. In fact I'm pretty sure I completely made it up and just kept seeing it because I'm pretty sure it's not there. ha. As a punishment I'm waiting for AF or 14dpo, whatever happens first. I'm starting to think that's going to be AF. 97.33 is still .03 above my coverline, but as far as I'm concerned it's as good as over. I put in my 5:45 usual time temp but of course, me being me, I'm asking you ladies what I should put in for today. *lol*

  • Your temp needs to be taken after three hours of consecutive sleep.

Obviously, you need to disregard the temp after 45 minutes.

Use your first temp and mark it sleep deprived. FF will give you an open circle.

  • I second Kerrbear.

Also I would just stick to one temp time even though your work schedule might change. I do mine every single day at 530 and most times I don't need to be up that early but I had to pick a time which I knew that most times I would be having enough sleep and wouldn't wake up on my own yet.

    Good luck.

  • Marking it sleep deprived... good idea. My schedule WAS going to change until I was told that this week would be the odd one, so after a couple days of the new time, I went back. Not a great idea, but waking up an hour before I need to be up on days I don't have my internship might result in me just being awake for an extra hour. Not good when you have to be around me. *lol*

Next cycle will have a consistent temp time. If CD 1 hits I'll chan ge FF to the new default time. Definitely not blaming anyone or anything else but me!

  • what PP have said...just mark sleep deprived.

As a sidenote--I saw in your siggy that you have a family history of Antiphospholipid syndrome? My cousin-in-law has that...she actually just delivered a baby last year.

  • Oh wow! That's awesome that she had a baby! Blood clotting issues seem to run on my mom's side, and my mom had APS. She had 3 earlier losses and 1 stillbirth before I was born. She was on heparin with me. She eventually had to have leg amputations and she passed away from a stroke when I was 10. She had a very severe case.

I've been tested several times (at my request) and it's been almost clear, except I once had a weak positive for the lupus anticoagulant, which is just one component of the disorder. I've never had symptoms. I consulted with a maternal-fetal specialist who I was referred to by an APS doctor and she said she'll give me the choice as to whether or not I pursue preventative treatment. I definitely will, and she said she understands my fears, so she'll put me on lovenox injections when the time comes. She's also really supportive of my desire for a natural childbirth, so she hopes my pregnancy will be complication free so she can pass me on to the midwife team. I'm hopeful! I just need to make a baby first!

Oh wow, I'm so sorry about your mom! My cousin-in-law had it pretty severe too...a molar pregnancy, then 2 miscarriages, and a still born son (it was that pregnancy that they FINALLY figured out that she had it)...they decided to try one more time, since they knew what was wrong, and she had Wren--she was born around 27 wks, but she's doing GREAT. (she also had heparin shots, and weekly monitoring, etc). They're actually in the process of adopting a girl, due next month. She has a blog about her pregnancy/NICU experience with Wren, if you'd like to check it out...followingwren.com. Good luck to you, I really hope you get the natural childbirth :)
