This is my first pregnancy and my hubby and I just moved to Fort Bragg... go Army! This past month has been chalk full of getting to know the area, and my way around base...being 6 months pregnant also means hitting every bathroom from here to there. So whats there to do in the area for the (new) stay at home mom??
Hope everyone's having a great day!!!
Re: Fort Bragg, NC
If you find a good Italian place, Mexican place and/or Chinese place, please let me know.... we've been here since March and have yet to find either. Luigis (sp?) on McPherson Church has pretty good steaks, better service and better food than the outback for better prices. As far as things to do, it's pretty boring around here, I do a lot of crafting, and nesting.... getting ready for baby. What/when are you expecting? I'm 23 weeks now, and expecting a boy.
HAHA! It wasn't wrong about the mexican food! Everything out here is crap. I'm due on Jan 7 with our first, but my original due date was at the end of December and I think we'll be closer to that, he's already pretty big. I was hoping to start working when we got here, since I had to quit a decent job to PCS, but I got preggo right away after getting here (something in the water) and no one wants to hire a preggo! LOL. But since we're moving across the country again next year I'm just going to enjoy being a SAHM for a while and enjoy our little boy and my puppies! Are you guys living on post?
unfortunately, its true. The food here sucks! A lot.. Miyabi's is ok. Ive heard Morgans chop house & Hill Top house are good but I havent been there. I do love The Mash House but its pricey. My newest fav is Carolina Ale House.
Ive been here for almost 4 years minus the 15 lovely months in Iraq. DH & I treat our selves to some "real food" in Raleigh.
As for Italian places, Elizabeths Pizza is ok :P
Defintely stay away from that walmart of Skibo!! Southern Pines and Pinehurst are nice places to live and visit for the day. Other than a few stores, there really isn't much to do there unless you go up to Raleigh or head to the beach. However, get in contact with your FRG. They should have lots of other Mommy's who you can get toetgterh with.
As for places to eat, a great Italian place is Pierros down on Hay street. Love, Love , Love it! One of the only things we miss about Fayett-nam. Also, try Mash House for dinner. Their food is pretty good.
Good luck with everything
