  Without knowing your budget/space allowances, I'm going to throw out a few ideas.  

  First, DD was given one of these and it is hands down her FAVORITE toy.  She will play on it parked in the grass, loves to cruise in it, will push it herself, puts things in the trunk-she will seriously play with this for at least 30 minutes at a time.

  Things I wish we would have gotten were more outdoor toys.  DD LOVES being outside and we don't have many things for our yard.  I wish we would have asked the grandparents to pitch in to get her an outdoor playground like this:

  

  We have a small slide, but she is enjoying climbing things and I wish we had more things like that around.  

  She was also given a little stroller that she can push, and that's been a hit.  We take a walk every afternoon, and she "visits" all the neighbors as they come home from work.  It's really cute and I'm glad she has it.
