Do you get up before, after, or at the same time as your kid(s)?
What time do you get up? What time do they get up?
I think I'd be better in the mornings if I could get up before Marion, but I just can't drag myself out of bed at 6:15 and she's up by 6:30.
Re: waking up poll
On the days I work (Mon-Thurs), I have to get up before Rena. I get up at 6 and leave the house by 7. Rena gets up around 7:30ish and DH gets her ready and takes her to school. On the days I don't work, I get up with Rena. I'm too tired/lazy to get up before her on the days I can actually sleep in.
When I was a SAHM, I always got up with her. I always wanted to get up before her so I could get stuff done, but I'm sooo not a morning person and loved getting that extra sleep.
Depends on when they get up... DH gets up at 6:45 and I get up at 7:00 (stagger our showers).... Recently, our kids have been sleeping until about 7:15-7:30...
I get up with her most of the time. Like nvp, I am so not a morning person. For example, DD woke this morning around 8:15 just as DH was leaving the house...he went to say goodbye to her, put her binky in and turned on her mobile. She slept another 45 minutes and so did momma! I get her ready for the day first, put her on the play mat while I eat and take her in the bathroom with me to shower and get ready. No need to wake up before her. I do things around the house during her naps.
I like my sleep way too much to wake before her.
during the week....
i get up and leave for work before dd wakes up.
i'm up at 5:45, dd usually wakes up about 7.
on weekends....
we try to trade off who gets up with her, but she's usually the "alarm clock" and will wake up anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30
when i'm working, i get up before maddy. i am usually out the door bt 7-730a and she gets up bt 8-830a.
since late in the pregnancy (when i wasn't sleeping well) and these days (with an infant) maddy is our alarm clock.
they have always been my alarm clock up until 2 weeks ago.
2 weeks ago Elena started Kinder so I now get up and get their breakfasts ready before they wake. They've gotten used to the early wake-up though and are usually up 5-10 minutes after me, if not at the same time.

Weekdays I get up between 6:00 and 6:30. DS wakes anywhere from 6:30 -7:30. I hate that some mornings I have to wake him to get him ready for daycare. DH wakes every morning at 7:00, but I have to be ready before DS because he isn't a kid that can happily entertain himself for more than 10 minutes so it takes me soooo much longer if he is awake.
On weekends we sleep until Evan calls for us. :-)

DH wakes up early with his alarm and takes the dog out in the mornings. At 6:10-ish he'll pick up Abbie from her bed and throw her into bed with me, waking us both up. We watch about 15 min. of Disney Channel to help her wake up (she is sooo not a morning person) and then I get up with her to get her breakfast ready and lunch made while she gets dressed for school.
On the weekends, DH usually wakes up early on his own, or the dog will wake him up. He worries about the pup and Abbie and Momma gets to sleep!

On weekdays, I'm usually up before the kids. I use that time to have my coffee in peace, and to get lunches packed without interruption. Ideally I like to be up about 1 hour before they are, but these days it's been more like 15 - 30 minutes because I've been a bit sick and sleeping late.
I get up around 6, they get up between 6:30 and 7 usually. However there are days when I have to go in around 7:15 to wake one of them up.
I find that if I wake up at the same time or later than they do, I feel unsettled for the rest of the day because my routine is off.
