Hey ladies,
I recently got a stock pile of clothes from my MIL (shopping) and my SIL (my neice) and I'm trying to determine what should be hung and what should go in drawers. I'm thinking outfits hung and onesies in drawers.
Does anyone have a system down?

Re: what to hang what to put in dresser
So if you have a changing table with drawers under it I keep jammies and socks in the top drawer, tops in the middle drawer and pant on the bottom. I hang heavy bulky items like sweat shirts, sweaters and clothes that I iron or are dressy. If you have the clothes right there at the changing table it eliminates the urge to step away from the baby to grab that shirt or pants. (everyone says they would never do that but I will bet that 100% of moms have at one point or another)
Its also much easier to fold and put away laundry. I stack pants together, shirts together and jammies that way when I go back to put things away its super easy and EVEN dh can do it : )
I just Googled this today. Found some good advice here.

Life As We Know It: my Blog
Personally, with DD, what works is hang every onesie, sleeper, outfit etc and in the drawers go socks, hats, blankets, and PANTS! (Pants suck to be hung.)
Worked for us.
Our nursery closet is the space behind our attic steps, so we have about 2.5 feet of closet rod, if that. I was given a lot of diff sized clothing recently, so I'm planning to keep everything NB, 0-3, & possibly 3-6 in the huge dresser. For outfits, I'll fold the pants, then lay them inside the folded shirt so the outfit stays together.
I'm only going to hang the bulky stuff that would take a lot of drawer space if folded. That way, we can use the rest of the closet for storage of extra boxes of diapers & gear/toys DS is too little to use.
w/ dd what we did (and will prob do again this time around) is hang the sleepers and dressy stuff (dresses, non-cotton pants, little sweaters, etc) in the drawers (our changing table was a dresser) we put onsies and cotton pants in the current size and next size up. This was only 1 drawer of stuff.
The top dresser drawer had diapers and wipes and socks as well as simple meds like saline, a thermometer, etc.
The bottom drawer (of our 3 drawer dresser) was storage for blankets, more diapers, etc.
The reason we hung sleepers and folded onsies/cotton pants was b/c imo sleepers were much easier to hang. Tiny onesies and pants = pita
Good luck, it really is all about finding what works for you!
We put thin pajamas and onesies in the dresser, pretty much everything else gets hung. I prefer to hang as many of the clothes as I can because I think it's easier to find what I'm looking for. Ds's dresser also holds his diapers since we use the dresser as a changing table and we store his extra sheets and cotton blankets in the dresser.
In the changer (i've got 3 drawers), I'm planning on jammies, socks, mitten things (so they don't scratch themselves), and hats in the top drawer; blankets and burp cloths in the 2nd drawer, and sheets in the bottom drawer.
The dresser is 4 drawers, so probably a bunch of onesies and whatnot in there - the things like jumpers and dresses, prams, etc will hang up in the closet.
I also bought 3 fabric "drawers" in pink and purple to go on the top shelf in the closet for bigger clothes. I'll wash 'em and have em ready to pull out when she's bigger. I bought a fabric 13-pocket/shelf closet organizer that hangs down from the rod in the closet for shoes, washcloths/towels, and bibs.
