Applying for a seasonal job and Pregnant

So maybe I am crazy but I'm thinking of applying for a seasonal position, somewhere where they have open interviews.  I'm going to try to request a position where standing on my feet all the time is not required.  Anyone know of anyone who got hired seasonally while pregnant?  I'm due in late January so they won't need me by then anyways.

  • I haven't ever worked seasonally, but what are you looking to do?  most of the seasonal work I know of is sales-related and would require you to be on your feet pretty constantly.

  • Thinking of applying at a theme park maybe in ticket sales, or phone customer service.  I couldn't handle food service or retail cashier because I am already having problems with my legs.
  • Hello,

I manage a Halloween store seasonally and right now is about hiring time. In all honesty, it IS a lot of standing on your feet all day, but in comfy shoes it's not too bad (I'm 33 weeks and doing mostly 10-12 hour shifts). Since you're not due until January you should have no problems getting hired at a Halloween or Christmas job if you don't have any restrictions. If you are interested in working just part time that might be a great option. I often hire people to work just prime shifts (after 4pm weekdays, weekends, ect) Hope that helps!

  • I got hired on for a seasonal job. It's in a call center, but its something. They also knew I was pregnant when I got hired. It is possible, the jobs are out there, just have to look for them.

    Good luck!

If it's retail, you could apply for a stock position.  That way, when you're processing merchandise in the back, you can at least sit for a few minutes at a time.

  • I want a job SO BAD! But Im not sure if im hire-able I can imagine them sayin "oh shes gonna have to go on a leave soon so nope" Ah what to do what to do.. I have a makeup artist job but I rarley get called to work! NEED moolah!
  • I actually just went back to work at a retail job I had a couple years ago and they are great about getting me off my feet when I need to be. (It's helps that I work with a bunch of men old enough to be my dad and they all treat me like a daughter, so they take great care of me.)
