1st Trimester

Please say this is normal... (TMI?)

This morning I noticed a bit of off white clumpy discharge in the toilet, and have been quite itchy.  I had dark spotting one day last week, but have not had any cramping.  My first appointment is not until Friday.  Should I be concerned?

I'm a first timer and a worrier by nature.  Help me Tongue Tied

  • Sounds like it could be a yeast infection...  I wouldn't worry about dark spotting... that can happen throughout the pregnancy.

  • It could be a yeast infection, but your pH level also changes during pregnancy which can irritate things down there.  I was pretty itchy with my first pregnancy but that wasn't until 3rd Tri.  If the itching gets worse or burns, call your doc.

Your body also produces more CM during pregnancy so it could be that too.

  • I agree about the yeast infection.  The itchiness kind of gives it away along with the white 'clump' discharge.  Go to your doctor so you can get that taken care of.

  • i was kind of itchy and a little smelly yesterday, but i think it was a reaction to the scented liner i was wearing???  I showered and have had no itch/smell.  So i'll just avoid those!

  • Sounds like a yeast infection.

I had a gynecologist who would lecture me every time I went in not to use scented products on anything that came into contact the lady bits.  She would freak out about scented pantiliners LOL

  • Great information ladies... thank you!  I do use scented pantiliners, but I called the doc as well just to cover all bases.
