When DS gets overtired, it is EXTREMELY difficult to get him to relax. He thrashes around, arches his back, cries, whines, etc. I try singing, rocking, nursing, paci (even though he refuses everytime, I always try), swaddling, bouncy chair, swing .... Naps are always a challenge, today especially, so by bedtime he was way overtired. It took 4 hours to finally get him down for the night. Any suggestions, other than try to get him to nap better during the day

Re: How do you guys soothe your overtired baby?
I'll use white noise when I've tried everything and nothing is working. The vacuum or hair dryer usually calms him down pretty quickly and then he falls asleep.

We bounce (she always needs to be bounced though), hold her close, and keep the binky in her mouth. She fights for awhile but it usually only takes her a couple minutes to calm down and then another 15 minutes - hour to actually be knocked out cold.

But this TOTALLY worked for us with DD until she was 3.5 months. Every.single.time. It was our go to every time she was overtired... which was often. Good luck to you!
