Houston Babies

PTing & #2 (or #3 babies)

So Marion has been in panties during the daytime for a solid six months now with just like maybe one or two accidents a week.  We're back and forth in dipes on naptimes and no where close at night.  And I'm totally cool with that.

What can I expect in terms of regression when we add the baby in the mix?  Anyone with experience to share?

  • I'm just filled with admiration that Marion is trained.  That's a huge accomplishment when you consider that your two girls will be only 23-24 months apart.

I was so shell-shocked after E. came that I couldn't even contemplate PTing S. until she was 3.  No matter what (if any) regression you experience, I still think you're way ahead of the curve.

  • E had been daytime PTd for just over 6mo when S was born. Honestly she didn't regress that much. She had a few extra accidents than she had been having, including 2 of the 3 poop accidents she's ever had. But a lot of things contribute to accidents, so I don't know if that really counts as regression.

In fact, a few months after S was born, she finally learned to pull down her pants and panties on her own which was great progress.

I definitely agree with this.  My 3 year old still isn't PT'd, so I'm also feeling a twinge of jealousy.

We tried starting with Maren before Blake was born and she would have a little progress and then stall out.  When Blake was born she lost a lot of her momentum and like KKKMex, we decided to hold off for awhile until after Blake was born - refocusing when Maren was 3.  But Maren had nowhere near the progress that Marion has right now, so I think you have very little to worry about.

  • thanks yall.  But I should point out we started doing EC at ten months old with her, so really, it took us eight months to get her PT'd in the daytime.  It definitely wasn't an overnight thing!

Jen - good to know about E.   And luckily, most of our dipes are one size, so if she does have some regressions, at least I still have dipes that fit!

  • you and marion have done such an awesome job!

i wouldn't expect marion to regress very much, being that she has been trained for 6 months.  '

our baby is 4 weeks, and maddy has not shown signs of regression, and she was only trained for about 3 weeks before the baby's arrival.

everything i read warned not to train so close to a new baby's arrival, but i was determined to not have 2 in diapers, so the week after july 4th, i bit the bullet and put her in panties.
