travel system.... any thoughts??

As I said the BRU near me is closing, and while they do not have any infant car seats left that I would want to buy, they did have a few travel systems left.

They had the Graco Stylus stroller and the top rated Graco SnugRide 35 Infant Car Seat normally $249.99 and it was $175. (We liked this one best)

They had the Chicco Cortina Travel System with Discovery pattern includes the Cortina Stroller and the KeyFit Infant Car Seat which is normally $300 and they had it for $210

Also they had The Safety 1st Aerolite Sport Travel System Stroller in Jax features the Safety 1st Aerolite Stroller, onBoard 35 Infant Car Seat and stay in car seat base which is normally $199.99 for $140....

Does anyone have and thoughts on travel systems or these ones in particular?

Re: travel system.... any thoughts??

  • I bought a Graco travel system, but a friend who had her daughter in April bought a Chicco Cortina system and loves it. I say go with the one you like best.

  • Choose either the Graco or Chicco.  They are both top rated travel systems with excellent infant seats.

  • I decided against the travel systems b/c I've heard nothing but bad reviews on them from all the new mom's around me.  My sister spent $250 on hers and ended buying another $180 stroller b/c the stroller on the Graco travel systems was a piece of crap and started falling apart.  She also hated how heavy it was an how hard it was to control.

I ended up getting the City Mini and then a Graco car seat with the snap n go frame.  Yeah it's more expensive now but considering everyone I know with a travel system had to buy another stroller anyway I figured it was worth it

  • I personally found Graco to be big, bulky, heavy and the wheels less maneuverable than the Chicco, so I went with a Chicco. I also thought that the material on the Chiccos felt higher quality. Another thing I liked was that the footrest clicks and locks into a bassinet position, without having to fumble with snaps.

If you put the Chicco beside other travel systems, it is much shorter in length as well.

I don't know, I spent a lot of time looking and testing them out and liked the Chicco best, by far! It has a lot of very good reviews from moms and reports!

  • We got the Chicco Cortina system. The price you mention is AMAZING! My sister has it and I wheeled her 6 week old around BJ's wholesale and it was extremely maneuverable and easy. The carrier is on the heavy side but her infant LOVES it and will sleep there sometimes when she sleeps nowhere else.

Ditto all of this, but you may have a different experience.  Just make sure you test drive whatever you want to buy first.  A stroll around BRU with a travel system was all it took to turn me off them for good.  Likewise, a quick test drive of my City Mini had me completely sold.

  • We have the Chicco Cortina Travel System and love it.  It was great to use with DD's infant seat when she was a baby, and now she still prefers this stroller to her lightweight Maclaren.  It's very easy to open and close, and it has held up very nicely after two years of much use.

  • I registered for same infant car seat. The pattern looks so pretty, though I have only seen it online. My BRU store didn't have it. Have you seen it in person? I don't even know what the material feels like - only that most of my girlfriends have used and loved Graco snugride and i adored this pattern - from what I could tell.
