Can we talk about toddler poop for a minute? TMI

DS just went poop in his potty and it was a very light tan/beige (almost white, but not) poop, maybe 2 inches in length. Googling tells me it could be something with his liver... but maybe it's dietary? I can't think of anything he's eaten that has been out of the norm.

Earlier he went poop and he had dark brown solids along with the beige "squirts." Any ideas? Should I call the pedi? He's been acting normal, not sick-like or anything. He is dealing with some allergies though.

Mom to an almost 4 y/o and an almost 2 y/o. In process of growing our family through adoption.

  • One poop - not much to worry about. Abby has all sorts of odd poops from time to time (just like we do as adults!) Squirts or even full blown diarrhea is nothing to worry about unless they're getting dehydrated.

My guess is the extra mucous from congestion is making his poop lighter and looser than normal. However, if it continues or seems to be worsening and or bothering him, then call and/or take him in.

Luke's dealing with this, too, since his nose started running.  His isn't white/beige, but it's def. lighter than normal.
