girl name help- clicky poll

Other middle name suggestions are also welcome... we just need something to break up the same sounds that Hailey and Shirley (our last name) have...

Re: girl name help- clicky poll

  • Is she going to go by her first and middle names?  Because if not, Hailey and Shirley are kind of rhyme-y.  I like the name, just not sure if you want something so similar to your LN.

(I voted for Hailey Jane though!)

  • To be honest I wouldn't use Hailey with Shirley. Most of the time people are not going to be using her middle name so it won't matter whether it 'breaks it up'...
  • I love the name Haley, spelled this way. But, unfortunately, I think Hailey Shirley is too matchy.

  • with your last name I wouldn't use the name Hailey.

  • We love the name Hailey and we're okay with it sounding matchy matchy... We have a niece named Emily Yackley and I thought that was odd, but it sounds fine now, I guess you just get used to it lol

  • I almost voted for Hailey Grace, but then I saw Hailey Jane, so that got my vote! I think both are beautiful, but I like Jane a little more.

  • I voted for Elizabeth, since it puts the most distance and syllables between Hailey and Shirley. Also, I think it sounds the best.

  • I agree w/ pp and I think there is a difference between Emily Yackley and Hailey Shirley. The different number of syllables in the fn and ln, along w/ the fact that the last name is readily identifiable as a last name makes Emily Yackley much less sing-songy than Hailey Shirley.

I agree.  Emily Yackley is not nearly as sing-songy as Hailey Shirley.  I really hope you at least consider a different first name for you DD, especially since every single person on here has said the same thing to you.
