Anyone still cooking dinner weeks before delivering?

Just this week, I feel like not cooking anymore. After working all day, cooking is the last thing I want to do. I am trying to figure out if I am just getting lazy or this is a common thing.
DS has acid relux and milk protein allergy, and had torticollis, used to EP, now we FF . April siggy 3-6 month

I'm still cooking!!! Cooking is becoming one of my hobbies. I'm always trying something new.

  • umm. yeah.

If i don't do it- no one else will. Being lazy when you already have kids usually isn't an option. so enjoy being lazy now.

  • Yup, I cook every night..it calms me down after work, and honestly, DH won't eat if I don't.

I have taken some nights off though when I'm really tired and we've gotten takeout or just had an easy cereal night or something like that.

  • Still cooking, but I have no option, I have a two year old. Enjoy it now while you can!
  • Yeah . . . and I'm still working, and still chasing my toddler, and still living my life . . . sorry, it seems like a silly question. Do I always feel up to it? No, but if I didn't do anything I didn't feel "up to" I probably wouldn't do much.
  • I still cook most nights, but if it's too hot and I'm too tired, I take a break and let DH know.  He'll usually just find something to eat himself or we order out.

  • I have still been cooking, but tonight I feel lazy about it. I made spaghetti and ravoli last night. I didn't know if my lazyness will continue in the coming weeks or people are still cooking.

  • This is my second pg, I'm a SAHM with a 2.5 year old. DH has been cooking dinner regularly for the past month or so, bc I'm usually pretty worn out by the time he gets home. Sigh, I usually do the cooking so I can get a kid break, but lately - I'd rather watch him than stand and cook. I'm still biking and being active during the day, though, but yeah, definitely getting tired at the end of the day this late is a pg symptom for me, too, so don't feel like you're being lazy!

  • I'm cooking more now than I was a few months ago! I'm off work and have been BORED. Here lately, I can't stand too long without getting achy so its been easy meals, but DH always gets fed.
  • Still cooking. meatloaf tonight...
  • Still cooking.  I love cooking, and know that after the baby I probably wont be doing a lot of it for a while (I've been stocking up the freezer with meals so we wont have to eat out every night) so I am enjoying it.  Most of our dinners have been pretty simple and not necessarily up to par with what I normally cook, but I am still cooking.  And sorry, but at 34w not feeling like cooking is just being lazy and playing the pregnancy card, IMO.

HELP!!! I keep procrastinating on this one. I love cooking & am always trying new recipes. But what type of meals have you been making that will freeze well? Normally when I freeze a meal, it is something I have made a TON of & don't want it to go bad, like spaghetti sauce, red beans, or chili. BTW OP, yes I am still cooking even with my puffy, swollen, Fred Flintstone feet. If I don't, the DH won't. He's worthless when it comes to cooking dinner, unless it's grilling of course. But I can't complain because he is the BEST breakfast maker in the world!!!

  • I am but I freezer cooked at 18 weeks enough food to last at least 6 months, so most nights I am thawing and heating up stuff, but some nights it requires more work (like last night I pulled out frozen marinated pork chops, thawed them, baked them, and cooked the side dishes).  It didn't take as much work as having to make the marinade and clean the mess up.  I am glad I did it because otherwise I would definitely not want to do it.  I'd probably make myself, but as I progress with my twins, I am huge and uncomfortable (especially at the end of the day), I am really glad I don't have to "cook from scratch" each night.  The best thing is that my grocery shopping is only a few fresh things each week, so that helps with the workload as well.
  • I am cooking even while on modified bedrest, but usually easy meals unless its the weekend when I have been on the couch most of the day.  My bedrest has been lifted as of today and I plan to keep cooking.  Usually I will cook "nice" meals on Mondays and Tuesdays, leftovers Wed, Thurs when DH works late, and then we usually cook or go out on the weekends.  I plan to keep this pattern up until I go into labor...even if it is while I am cooking!
