Cyrus for boy

He will be choosing the boys name if it's a boy and I will be choosing the girls name if it's a girl. He already chose Cyrus and told me he liked that name since we started dating 4 years ago! I cant think of any names that I like!!

So a polish/german/dutch/czech/and 1/128 native american blond hair blue eyed Cyrus is pretty unique to me.

The middle names we decided will be OUR middle name. So... Cyrus Joseph (Joseph is also both of our grandfathers names)

The one name I like is Madelynn (Maddie) which would be Madelynn Elizabeth.

I don't want to keep looking for names until I know the sex...hoping for a boy because I'm too lazy to look for more girl names!

Besides all of the Miley Cyrus obsessions I barely know what this chic looks like and we both try to ignore any pop media or reality tv. Thanks for true opinion but the only last names I heard are Miley and Billy Ray.

Cyrus means the sun which is what my bf believes in more than anything.

I knew 2 guys named Cyrus - personally I love the name. One guy went by "Cy" most of the time. I think it's a great name and doesn't make me think of Miley or Billy Ray.

I like Cyrus. I don't really care for Madelynn, spelled that way. I would use the more traditional spelling Madeleine.

I would like the name but it reminds me of that 90's movie Con Air with a John Malkovich playing Cyrus the Virus Tongue Tied

Just avoiding the possibility of teasing.

I think of John Malkovich as 'Cyrus, the Virus' in ConAir.

Also, please reconsider spelling Madelyn with two Ns. Phonetically, the doubled consonant places the emphasis on the third syllable--making the name mad-eh-LYNN, instead of MAD-eh-lin, which is the normal pronunciation. Yes, most people will still pronounce it correctly, even with that extra N, but it is technically incorrect.

I don't care for it, but if you and your hubby have come to a conclusion, GO FOR IT. It's hard to come to a joint decision on a name. I love Madelyn Elizabeth, by the way! Gorgeous! Congratulations! :)

I thought of this too. I personally don't care for it, but if it's a name you really love more than any other name out there then use it. I also agree that Madelynn really ruins the beauty of the name. I would go with either Madeleine or Madelyn.

Actually, I know two Native American men named, Cyrus. Cy is a III. I love older/outmoded names. I have to say, both guys are pretty good looking, so I have a good impression of the name. Cyrus will stand out in a sea of Aidan/Braedan/Cadens. It's also a good, underused biblical name.

Madelynn is nms. The spelling looks hacked...I'd go with either Madeline or the American phonetic spelling of Madelyn.
