1st birthday

I am trying to get ideas together for DD's first birthday party. Her birthday is Dec 18th, and is in the middle of holiday parties. So I was considering having it on my birthday, Jan 31, since most Christmas parties will be out of the way.

My only concern is location. It will be too cold for an outside party. And our house isn't that big. Are there any resaurants that are kid friendly where we could rent out a party room (not chucky-cheese)? I'd love some advice ladies!

    No advice, but I need the same ideas.  I want to have something for mine - her first b-day is 1/18, but not at my house, not expensive and not outside :) She won't have any friends her age, but we'll have about 7-8 kids between 3-8 years old.  Then about 15 adults.  I was thinking about just getting a bounce house for my back yard and making everyone squeeze in.

    It depends on how many people you're talking about & what type of party....like are you doing some type of entertainment? We had DS's 1st bday at our house. We don't have a large living room/kitchen area, but there wasn't much room needed for people to watch him eat cake & open presents.

    Do you have a neighborhood amenity center you could rent out? Or a close friend or relative who might be willing to host it at their larger house?

    Paradise Pond is in Grapevine and its really nice - its $150 to rent the entire playspace out and you get one party room (but the entire facility is yours) - for $200 you get both party rooms.  They say that its for kids 2 - 6th grade, but I have been taking DD and DS there since DD was 18m and DS was crawling and it was fine.  Its CRAZY during the summers on open hour days, but you could go for a playdate and see if you like it.  Its only $1 per person (including adults) and you just need socks.  Its open Thursdays and Fridays from 9 - 11am.
