the four or five oz ones are fine. Honestly when we recieved DN we thought since she was FF she would need huge bottles of it and we wasted so much money on number one 9 oz bottles, and number two formula. DH would make her a whole bottle and she would eat four ounces or five ounces at a time at two months old and call it a day.
That being said I am BFing this LO and all we have are the born free 5oz bottles HTH
With DD, we had a mix of 5 oz and 8 oz and almost exclusively used the 5 oz. DD was more of a frequent snacker than a big meal drinker, though. I don't think she ever drank more than 5 oz at a time.
We have a combo of the smaller and larger sized Tommee Tippee.
The smaller ones are much easier in the beginning, at least for us, since we are tracking feeding amounts - it is easier to see if she ate 1.5-2 ounces on the smaller bottles.
However, now that Miss Piggy is consistently gobbling 3.5 ounces a feeding, we use whatever size we get our hands on first.
But, I hear that it is nice to go back to the smaller bottles once the baby starts to hold their own bottle since it is smaller/ easier to hold up.
No personal experience here, but from what my experienced mother friends told me, 4oz will fit in an 8oz bottle just fine. You use the 4oz size for such a short period of time it is really a waste of money.
