love love LOVE the name...... but getting tired of all the Elle,Eli,Ellie's running around-- such a common nickname kind of defeats the purpose of a nickname, doesn't it? LOL.... but I like the name. I like the books too :-)
It's definitely not one I've heard recently. I guess I can see it as one of the "old lady" names that could possibly make a comeback. I don't have a strong feeling either way - don't love it, but don't hate it either.

It's also on my short list. I grew up with a family friend named Eliose, but we called her Eli, like eee-lie...or Loze...don't ask me why.
I picked Eloise to honor my grandmother who was Emma Louise. I wanted something in that spirit, but Emma is overdone.

My IVF Journey
My DD's name is Eloise, so of course I am biased! We usually call her Eloise, but occasionally use cutesy nicknames when we are playing with her like Ellie Belly and Weezy,

LOVE it!
It is on my short list if we have a girl! I have been obsessed with it for awhile now.
