January 2011 Moms

Why do people...

have to constantly be raining on others?

Ya'll remember the girl who was giving me sh!t about pumping and bottle feeding from the get go?  Turns out all her feeding problems were because baby wasn't getting but a couple ounces every 2 hours (total) and she was basically starving her.  After a TON of trips to 3 different OB's, dietary restrictions, and all this stuff, they finally decided to try pumping to see exactly how much the baby was getting....now she is exclusively pumping and bottle feeding.  I feel bad for the baby, but its a bit ironic she is now doing what she gave me crap for......

The same girl does this:  I am selling some Coach purses, a Versace, and a Chanel that I bought from a factory direct/reject/overstock LICENSED dealer about a year ago.  I hardly ever use them because I bought one and it became my favorite.  I listed them on FB market place and this girl comments "Knockoffs I assume??!!".  NO- like I stated in the post and like the pictures in my profile show- they are not knockoffs.  I replied with the licensed dealer info and the fact that all of the Coach's have registration numbers on leather labels on the inside like they are supposed to....

Seriously, this girl is about to be deleted.  Just because you're older than me (she's 38/39, I'm 25) or think you know better because you had your baby first, or because your husband is a year ahead of me in law school, does not mean you get to act like a know it all skeptic every time you talk to me!

Minor vent, but it really irked me!

Re: Why do people...

  • I feel for you.  I hate all of the holier-than-thou attitudes out there justified by nothing more than "I'm older" or "I got KU before you did"

  • She sounds like a real piece of work.

Where are you in law school?  Message me if you ever want to chit chat about the legal world :)

No doubt.  I know what she said isn't a big deal, but it's like every.single.time. I talk to her.  I even make a point to ask her how her baby is doing and how she is feeling because I knew they were having a hard time.  Yet, every time I mention anything, its like the end of the world or couldn't possibly be true.

  • people have been acting like that toward me lately too... judging me for certain things and then I find out they're doing the same or they don't know what they're talking about

  • Oh, and after I commented about the extra info on the purses...she deletes her "knockoffs" comment! WTH???
  • oh ugh, people like that irk me. I'm sorry you have to deal with that, i'm sure that it's just a cry for attention. I can't breastfeed because i have to go back on vital meds that i've been without for my whole pregnancy...the meds can cause infant brain development problems and neurological disorders so I decided not to take the risk and take care of my own health as well as my LO's. I've been getting flack for that, everything from 'you're going to starve your baby' 'you're going to deprive your baby of everything important'

I look at it as it's my child...my decision..my family and as much as they are entitled to their opinions, they are just that...opinions.

  • Interesting.  She must not give your intelligence much credit.  I mean someone in law school selling knock-off handbags on FB would be pretty stupid.  I mean you can't exactly plead ignorance of the law when you got busted.  Or maybe she's so stupid that she doesn't realize selling knockoffs is illegal?  Sounds like a peach of a lady.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    LOL!!  True...

  • She would have already been deleted if it were me. I don't have patience for that crap.
