I'm going to start rubbing people's belly...

I have NEVER felt the urge to rub a pregnant woman's belly.  I've always thought it would be weird to.  I don't understand why so many other people feel the need to.  I was at a work conference and so many people just walked by and rubbed my belly!  Literally as they'd walk by, they'd rub my belly.  I think that from here on out if someone rubs my belly, I'm going rub their belly back and see what their reaction is!
2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13...

    I am the same way- I've never had the urge to reach out and touch a pregnant belly! Yesterday before our nephew's birthday party, I told DH that if his aunt touched my belly, I was totally going to touch hers back. Luckily it never happened, but DH thought it was hilarious and awesome!

    I keep being asked if I'm showing yet. People will look right at my bulging belly and ask, completely seriously, "are you showing yet?" I decided the next person that asks, I'm gonna rub their belly and say, "I can see that you are".

    Sometimes people have no boundaries.

    LOL.. that's too funny. I haven't had people do it yet (I'm not showing too much yet)... but I'm already annoyed at the fact that people will just start rubbing my belly

    It's funny - before I got pregnant (with #1), I did have that urge to touch a prego belly...but I always asked...it was fascinating to me.  But then I got pregnant - and realized how uncomfortable it is when someone else other than DH touches my belly and now i don't ever even ask to touch someone else's.

    the only belly I've ever touched was my cousins before TTC for "luck in conceiving a boy" since she knew what she was having.  but I asked first.

    This weekend I was visitng family and a few of my cousins lifted up my shirt and started poking at my belly! Many others just rubbed it. It was so annoying. I let all of them have it and rubbed their bellies right back! But seriously who lifts up someones shirt?!?!

    I have no desire to rub or be rubbed.  I think it's just plain weird.  H can touch my belly all he wants - eveyone else (including my family) needs to stay away.  I think it's so irritating how a pregnant belly becomes public property.

    I tell everyone that asks to rub my belly, "Sure, but I get to rub yours."  And I do.  If they don't ask, I just rub their belly too.

    This is great! I've only ever asked to feel the baby kick when either of my sisters were pregnant. I do not want anyone touching my belly. And I totally agree with the - if you touch my belly I can touch yours.
