What do you wear during the actual labor? The hospital gown? Do you wear a bra/undies underneath? What if you go in the tub? If you're walking the halls, is your ass on display?
I wore just a hospital gown, no bra or panties. You can bring a robe to cover up while walking around. I never used the birthing tub so I don't know what you would typically wear for that.
I wore a gown, no underwear and a bra. The gown was open to the back. I wasn't allowed to walk around, but I think they had a hospital type robe to go over the back if you walked around.
I also didn't do anything with the shower/tub, but I know a lot of women in my birth class planned on bringing a dark sports bra for that. I wouldn't bother with anything on bottom for the shower or the tub. By that time, you're not going to care much about modesty, the bra is mostly just to keep the girls in place.
I just wore the hospital gown and a sports bra. At one point the pain was so intense that I couldn't stand clothes and blankets on , and I ended up in just the sports bra, and would have taken that off too if it weren't for the IVs and stuff. They gave me a robe to throw on when I wanted to get up.
It depends on the hospital. My hospital wouldn't let you wear anything under the gown except the fetal monitor holder (like a tube top for your belly). We had to wear the gown, no personal clothes allowed, while in labor (afterward you could wear your own clothes or a fresh gown). Definitely no undies, since they check you a lot.
If you wanted to walk beyond your room (I didn't while in labor, but did afterward) they gave you a second gown you could wear backward as a robe, so your ass was covered.
At first I was really annoyed at having to wear the hospital gown, but afterward when I realized I got blood ALL over it (not to mention all manner of other fluids) it was nice to not have to worry about laundry. After my c/s the gown was nice because I didn't have to worry about anything hitting my incision site, or messing with stuff when I went to the bathroom. They checked me a lot the first couple days, so having to put on/take off pants would have been a PITA.

I wore 2 gowns while waiting for contrax to start (I was induced): one the normal way with ass hanging out and one backward like a rob to cover said ass. Also underwear and bra.
In labour when I wasn't leaving my room, I wore one gown (the backwards one was taken off for the epi and stayed off) and a bra. No underwear then though.

Perfect. I have a couple black nursing sleep bras I could wear for the tub. I was just thinking that my boobs HURT when they're free, so I'm going to want something.
I'm a little late to reply, but I wanted to give my .02 since I did use the tub (for like 6 hours! lol). I thought I would want my sports bra on to keep the ladies in place but I ended up being much more comfortable without it. I was buck naked in the tub with a towel draped over my top to keep the part of me that was out of the water sort of warm.
Otherwise I just wore the gown with a robe to cover my ass while walking, and had mesh undies with a ginormous pad since my water had broken.
