1st Trimester

So who doesn't have M/S or nausea?

I didn't have any morning sickness with my daughter and so far have not had any this time around either.

It honestly kind of bums me out. I want that constant reminder that I am pregnant. All that is happening for me is the urge to stuff my fat face and take afternoon naps, LOL. Oh the boobs are nice too... never had those before ;)

So anyone else with no morning sickness?

Re: So who doesn't have M/S or nausea?

  • I had ZERO m/s and nausea with my other pregnancies but this time it is horrific!  I am not vomiting, just nauseous all the time.  I can hardly sit in a restaruant.  You are very lucky!  My sister is pregnant as well and she is not sick at all but with her daughter she was.  Be thankful b/c this stinks

  • I threw up for the first time this morning.  Otherwise I just have slight, slight nausea here and there.  I was wondering if it was going to happen to me.  So, it may still happen to you as well.

  • It comes and goes.  It seems to be worst in the evening for me - has been coming reliably for about 5 or 6 days now.

Isn't it funny?  I've said to Dh that there is no winning.  I hate feeling sick and nauseated, but I like having the reminder all is well.

  • Don't get my wrong.. I really don't want to be barfing all day in a toilet. That was 1/2 joking. I do want some more pregnancy symptoms. If I could choose, a loss of appetite would be nice and a craving for all things healthy. haha
  • Nothing here.  I eat...probably too much.

  • Once in awhile I experience nausea -- usually between breakfast and lunch. I've figured out if I eat again it goes away.
  • No offense but it kind of annoys me when people talk about being bummed about not having m/s.  BE GRATEFUL!  I get to leave my house once a week, the rest of the time I'm on a sofa with my head in a bucket, miserable.  Some of us have been hospitalized and on bed rest (me personally, 3 weeks of bed rest with no end in sight).  Some people are trying to function at work feeling miserable.  So to say you are bummed because you don't feel miserable is an insult to us that are truly suffering

Personally, I don't need to be puking out my guts (which I am) to remind myself I'm pregnant.

Trade me places, I would love to leave my house for a day without getting sick, I think it would be great to enjoy this great autumn weather with DH.  He!!, I would be happy just to be able to shower without throwing up.

  • Yikes, I was joking. Chill out. See my 2nd post.
  • Ive had nausea once. I feel very lucky. My biggest food complaint is just wicked aversions.

BTW Mike&Care- I love your signature picture- its a really great shot!

  • nothing here, but then I  hear it starts up around 6 weeks normally so maybe we'll be in for it before too long.  personally I am really hoping I never get it. I understand the feeling though, when you don't have ANY symptoms yet.  I still feel like I haven't quite absorbed the whole idea of this yet.
  • I have none of it yet.  They say it hits around 6 weeks so I'm waiting.
  • I have had no morning sickness. I am hungry ALL the time. Craving healthy things would be nice, but right now these Doritos are good.
  • KelliLynn - thanks! Our photographer was Frederick Ng in the SF Bay area. he ws great!

Mrs. Larry - I agree. It is still such an abstract thought.

  • No morning sickness yet. Im waiting thought. My sister is 12 weeks and she was sick from about 3 weeks on and is just feeling better. With her first daughter she passed out all the time....with the 2nd she got sick the whole time and this time hpefully she feels better

  • I haven't been sick at all. The closest thing to it is if I get too hungry I get a feeling of being car sick. I've been drinking tons of water and eating every few hours....hopefully that will keep working for me!

  • they say it *usually* doesn't hit until after the 6 week mark-  so we may still be in for it...

  • Nothing yet except, oatmeal made me gag a bit & tomatoes on my salad. Keep thinking it will show any day now...
  • I've been fine.  The worst I get is some loss of appetite around dinner time.  I'll take a few bites and I'm done.  But that's it.  I'm thankful I can go on living life as normal at least for now.
  • I, too, have not really had any m/s or nausea- I have been eating every 1-2 hours during the day (something light- a ricecake, yogurt, piece of fruit) and if I don't eat that often, I feel like nausea might be setting in. So far I have to say I've been very lucky...but I know what you mean about the constant reassurance of being pg :)
  • I feel like the title of this post is mocking me.
  • This is generally a topic that isn't taken well, so I'm surprised there's so few numbers telling you that you're disrespecting them.

FWIW, no I haven't been sick and according to my Mom and Grandma they were relatively m/s free as well.

  • I know some women get it before they even get a BFP.  With my daughter I didnt get it until 8 wks.  Even then I was just naseus all day long.  So far so good here!  Hoping that stays!
  • Well you are only 5 weeks so give it a week or so. It usually doesnt start until week 6.
  • thenewmrsrussell - you are funny, I like you. Definitely not mocking. Sorry if you are feeling sick!
  • hahaha

Not trying to be a debbie downer but geeshhh...

I'll be honest, I have not yet thrown up. My mom and grandmother said that they never had M/S at all.... I just get wicked "nauseated" (huh? you like that? haha) all the time. Totally sucks when I spend a half hour gagging non-stop in the bathroom just because I smelled something gross or am having food aversions.  This also usually leads to a crying fit because I cant stop gagging and I feel like such a loser. Wicked cool.

  • I was having problems when I was brushing my teeth, but the nausea didn't really hit me until today. I didn't actually throw up but I think I may have felt better if I had.
  • I'm 9 weeks also had problems gagging, while brushing my teeth, but other than that no m/s.
  • I don't have much either, i started having nausea at night about at about 7weeks (only last week).  But it comes and goes, my mom never got sick with me or my sister, and my sister is 22wks with no m/s and is having a girl.  Maybe it is a girl thing?!  Just a thought...HA
  • No m/s or nausea so far but I may just be doomed in a while. My mom was incredibly sick the entire time with all three of her pregnancies. Let's hope that doesn't run in the family.

  • You girls with no m/s are lucky!  I still have it at almost 22 weeks.

  • No m/s or nausea yet...which means I probably won't have it at all this go around.  I feel blessed.
  •  i don't have it either! ;-) as long as i eat i'm fine.  until the US i kept taking pregnancy tests to lay on my bathroom counter so i could look at it every morning and think "ok...i AM pregnant!!!"  I complained to my DH about not feeling pregnany, and he said do you really want to puke?  haha put it that way, and i guess you're right. i don' tmind being tired and bloated. :-p
  • no morning sickness or any real nausea, i keep waiting for it. but my mother and grandmother never had it with either of their pregnancies. i have found that I wait to long in between meals, then i get slightly nausea, but it goes away as soon as the food hits my belly.
  • i've felt pukey, but not actually carried it out yet. i kinda know what you mean with not having m/s. i think i'd feel better if i'd actually hurl at least once because i hear that means good things are happening with the growth of the baby and less chance of miscarriage. other than that i'm completely grateful for keeping my head out of the toilet!?
  • I experienced my first experience of M/S last Friday without knowing that I was pregnant.  I just thought that I ate too much.  Just yesterday I found out that I was pregnant and tomorrow I will know how far along in my pregnancy I am.  But I am experiencing a lot of nausea and cramps.  I hope it is only for the first trimester and not throughout my entire pregnancy.

  • With DS I had M/S for 5 months straight.  It was horribble.  This pg I haven't had any, so I'm hoping it stays that way:-)
  • No nausea or anything. I do get crazy heartburn and like acid indegestion though.....YUCK, it has taken away my love for mexican....
  • I beg to differ with those that say it doesn't hit until week 6; mine was at its worse during weeks 5 and 6 and now has dissipated at week 8.

    Everyone is different!

I know it's frustrating not having symptoms; we all want reassurance that something is developing...we just have to have faith!
