Getting poop out of baby clothes?

So my husband stayed home and watched the baby today.  And this morning, I had some quality time with my baby before going to work, and I dressed him in a really cute baby boy outfit that some friends gave us. 

So I I came home from work at the end of the day.  And I noticed that baby was in a different outfit.  My husband mentioned he had one blowout out the backend.  Baby is transitioning from Size 1 to Size 2 diapers.  And I was in the kitchen, and then I noticed my husband was trying to get the poop out of the cute baby outfit that I had dressed him out that morning.  Normally, I wash the outfit with hot water right away and then put it in the washer.  Well, I have a feeling that the poop was left on the outfit for a couple of hours --my husband said he was busy with the baby all day.  I am soaking it in hot water right now. 

Does anyone have any other suggestions for getting out poop from baby clothes?

Baby measured 9 weeks, still a heartbeat 12/23/09. Good NT Scan on 1/8/10, heartbeat 164. EDD 7/28/10. TEAM BLUE! Aidan Thomas born on May 26, 2010. Baby #2, BFP 11/27/11, EDD 6/5/12. TEAM PINK! Noelle Elizabeth born 4/30/12. Blessing from God, Blessing from God, Blessing from God, Blessing from God.

    I use a cold soak and then a hot wash on my diapers.  EBF poo that has sat less than 3 days comes out with few stains.  And most of the stains could be removed by drying in the sun.

    I swear by TOTALLY TODDLER spray from BRU.

    While DS was in the NICU he had an explosion on an outfit and they didn't tell us so it sat for days and it came right out. :)

    get it good and wet and lay it out in the sun for a couple hours

    I have had great luck with the Dreft stain spray. I just spray it on, throw in the hamper and wash whenever. I also have the Dreft pen in my diaper bag. I use Purex Free and Clear detergent. I have not had one poop stain that this didn't work on.

    I use Ivory Bar Soap and cool water, I have had poop left on cloths for a day and it scrubed right out!!! Good luck!
