I'm pretty excited. Even if it takes another week or two to deliver, I am proud to announce I lost my mucus plug this afternoon. I had some early false labour kind of stuff going on last night for a few hours. Baby was going nuts every few minutes for 2 hours. It was the most active he's ever been. Laid back and happy guy today though.
I almost caved for an early induction yesterday so I have to say I am so grateful for my amazing husband, who reminded me I have come this whole 9 months with a natural birth plan and to give in now out of frustration (not even all that uncomfortable, I could stay pregnant quite a while longer, I love it) would be silly. Even the ob was seriously encouraging going home and waiting it out.
Thank god! I would have had the chance to experience it if I hadn't of listened. I know some people think it's gross and nasty and all that but I am truly fascinated with that kind of stuff.

We ran the risk of induction last week because of high blood pressure, so I asked the midwife if we were good to try any tricks. I have been taking evening primrose oil (which made a considerable difference in ripening) to soften up my cervix and caulophyllum (a homeopathic) 3 times a day. I have also had a stretch and sweep and an internal. It wasn't the way I hoped it would go, but the induction has been canceled, my bp is normal, my cervix is soft and starting to dilate and obviously the mucus plug has come out.
Take from that what you wish, but I do think the homeopathics have helped my body prepare quite a bit though in my own opinion. May or may not be worth a shot. We all know nothing works if you're not ready but it's nice to know it's helping my body get ready by softening things up.
I lost my muscus plug this morning.
I was supposed to be induced last thursday due to high BP but when I went in they said m BP dropped back down after being on the monitor for 3 hours. They sent me back in yesterday for a stress test and kept me another 3 hours because I was having contractions but they died off as well. Getting very frustruated! I have an appointment tomorrow. As of yesterday I was 1cm and 50% effaced. Hope tomorrow I have progressed or these contractions start to become a little more difficult to bear and my water breaks!
