Birthing photography LIP

Now I"m not one for pictures to be taken during the birthing process.  Wait until mommy and baby are all cleaned up and pretty looking and then photograph away is my motto!  But I was looking around my hospitals FB page and a woman posted about birthing photography she was offering.  I checked it out just to see how tasteful she was with it.  I found this slideshow of the story, and it was BEAUTIFULLY done.  I actually cried while watching it!!!!  Just thought I'd share it with you ladies:

  • I think birth photography is an art that is typically overlooked! I had a professional photographer present for the births of both my kids, and the photos she took from that day are my very favorites (even above my wedding photos!!).

She was there all day (start of labor until both babies were a few hours old) and included images of the whole process and day. 99% of the photos are totally tasteful and are easily shared, while she included a "private" folder with a few images that she warned might not be for everyone.

Honestly, the emotions in these photos are priceless to me. My husband and I's faces as we became a family of three - or the tears on my husbands face when our second child was born are honestly images I will never have to forget.

I definitely recommend it - and think it was well worth the money!!

  • I loved it! I can't believe how amazing that turned out. I am a hormonal mess as well. I had to wipe my eyes a few times. I cried even harder when I saw it was called the Birth of Cooper. That is going to be us in 3 months!

  • I am bawling now. Thanks! =D

I loved it! If this was something I could do, I totally would. My hospital specifically says no photography, though.

  • This video made me cry! It was very well done and completely tasteful. I'm almost reconsidering... almost.

  • oh my goodness...how could you NOT cry!! That was beautiful!

I'd love to do this, but besides the cost, we're still trying to decide who will be in the delivery room with hubby and I. I don't think my MIL would take too kindly to being told no, but a stranger/photographer would be welcome! =)
