Help! Table food meal ideas for 10mo old?

I'm transitioning to LO just now to tablefoods. He really doesn't care for the stage 3 foods. So....if you don't mind....Here's what we've tried so far: mashed potatoes, spaghetti, watermelon, breads, shredded cheese, avocado, shredded chicken. I think that's it... no real meals (except for the spaghetti). Any meal recommendations??  Thanks!  I feel like we are lagging behind, but daycare is still feeding him stage 2's during the day, and then all we have is dinner left to try different foods. Thanks!

  • grilled cheese sandwich cut in strips or small pieces depending on how well LO eats, eggs, french fries, We feed DD pretty much whatever we eat just in small baby bite pieces.

  • My LO loves any kind of pasta.  His favorite is fettucine alfredo with chicken and broccoli.  I Just cut it up really well and make sure there are no broccoli stems in his.

Last night we had BBQ chicken sandwiches.  I cooked chicken breasts and BBQ sauce in the crockpot all day.  I took some of the shredded chicken out for him before I added more BBQ sauce, and added in some steamed veggies.  He LOVED it.

    Bananas are a big hit.

One of the meals she's eaten best so far is pot roast from the crock pot, with carrots and potatoes. She was all about that! She also likes ground beef. She had banana bread (no nuts) at daycare yesterday and liked that. She's really actually pretty good about eating anything we put in front of her.

  • We've basically been giving DD the same things we have for dinner. The other day it was ham and scalloped potatoes (she LOVED this!). Tonight it's chicken w/ mashed potatoes and green beans.... We are lucky this time; DD2 loves her food and will eat anything! (quite the opposite of DD1 ;)

    Some of her faves are:
elbow pasta w/ butter and/or tomato sauce
    peas
    diced avocado
    pancakes
    chicken and carrots

  • S eats whatever we eat.  She even tries the spicy food and has liked most of it!  I cook almost every night and I always use either organic or homegrown food.  Not that you have to do this but it explains the french fries we let her have;)

Some things we break up for her but others, (like burgers/fries) I just make smaller portions and she picks it up and takes bites.

    This last week she had:

Fish Tacos, Turkey Burgers w/fries,  Falafel with Hummus, Roasted Veggie Pasta, Quinoa with spiced pork and chicken braised with figs.

  • Ladies - This post is freaking me out and amazes me at the same time. Please tell me how you started this solid food! All we can get DS to eat is puffs. Seriously. I cut up bananas, avocados, etc and he plays with it but then throws it down. He will not eat it. He hates stage 3 foods but can eat them. Any ideas would be seriously appreciated.

I did buy some Annies Organic MacnCheese today at whole foods in hopes that he'll eat that if we cook it tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

We had crockpot roast, carrots, and potatoes tonight because it is DD's fav!

We also put a lot of things on whole wheat tortillas...hummus, smashed black beans and cheese, chicken and cheese...and cut it into bite-size pieces.  Tator tot hotdish, "ghoulash" (elbow macaroni with tomato sauce, hamburger, and whatever veggies we have in the fridge), homemade pizza.

DD will eat pretty much whatever we are eating, we just need to get better about cooking dinner every night!

  • He can eat pretty much anything. Whatever I'm feeding my husband, he usually has.
  • Yeah, we give our LO pretty mch whatever we are eating from the table in smaller bites...she eats it all for the most part...didn't care too  much for the corn though lol.
  • i'm in the same boat. Are all of your LO's feeding themselves? Mine just throws his food down or plays with it.
  • Dang...I am giving my LO the basics also...chicken, avoc, fruit, veggies, but I'm finding it difficult to give him "table food".he's not the one finding it difficult it's me...im worried about the ingredients. But you all have inspired me...gonna try it tomarrow for dinner.
  • Aubrey almost insists on feeding herself and I try to give her a little of what we are eating for dinner if its kid friendly. She doesnt eat a ton of sugar or processed food. She has never had a jar of baby food. (but I did buy cereals, puffs and the lil veggie crunchies)

For dinner this week she had: mini cheese ravioli (cut in 1/2) with pesto sauce, chicken cheesy broccoli bake, turkey meatloaf, the noodles, carrots and chicken out of my homemade chicken noodle soup, pancakes, hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, grilled eggplant, grilled veggie kabobs (mushrooms, zucchini, squash, red pepper) grilled chicken and baked sweet potato,

She also loves: cantaloupe, watermelon, blueberries (cut in 1/2) grilled cheese strips, baby pizza (carrot puree, tomato sauce and mozzarella toasted on a whole wheat pita) cottage cheese, waffles, mandarin oranges (in juice not syrup) jelly toast (the all fruit kind), pineapple, black beans, peaches, pears
