So around what week should I think about washing her clothes? Also I bought All Free & Clear detergent, will this work? I don't really want to use Dreft because we are doing cloth diapers and I can't use fabric softeners with them.

Re: When to do laundry and what kind of detergent
Ok, don't get me started on cloth diaper detergent. Apparently, All Free and Clear is not the best detergent for CDs because it contains ezymes (and maybe brighteners?). You are supposed to find a detergent that is not only fragrance free, but free of these additives. There are quite a few listed on the CD websites, but none of them are really readily available. For what it's worth, although it's not ideal, it is listed as "acceptable" on the pinstripesandpolkadots website.
I am curious on when to do the regular laundry though.
All Free and Clear (not the HE kind) is ok for cloth diapers and for baby clothes.
I'm not cloth diapering but we use All Free and Clear on our own clothes. I bought Up and Up(the target brand) baby detergent, its similar to Dreft I suppose. I will say it has a scent when you smell it in the bottle but after I wash clothes it doesn't leave much of a scent.
I started washing clothes around 28 weeks I think but I don't work so I had loads of free time and wanted to get them done. I'm still washing clothes as people are still sending things.

I'll probably be starting laundry next week. As far as detergents, we are going with Tide Free & Clear. I have pretty sensitive skin to some detergents and DH can sometimes be sensitive and Tide has never caused either of us problems. So I would assume that she would be okay as long as we switched to the Free & Clear option.
I've heard from 2 of my friends who are recent new moms that Dreft is not worth it.
We are using Rumparooz, which they recommend to use your normal detergent, so if we get some prefolds I will get some special detergent for them if we use them.
I just started washing stuff about two weeks ago. It was such a relief to have it all done, but I was apparently the only pg lady that didn't get the no dryer sheet memo, so now I have to rewash everything. This makes me excessively cranky, so I haven't done it yet.
Seriously, I am overinformed on every other aspect of this pregnancy, how did I miss that???
I am not cloth diapering but we are going to use All Free and Clear or Tide Free and Clear whichever is cheaper at the time
I don't plan on using Dreft unless someone gets it for us.
I think I will start washing clothes a week or two after my shower, so probably around 34/35 weeks.
I plan on washing the crib bedding around 37 weeks...hopefully that is not too late!
