Our little one is off to a great start - Used BRU completion discount
Sorry! I totally babbled off on this post, it is soooo long.
Yesterday, I went shopping using the BRU completion discount to get the final items that remained on my registry. I was very fortunate it was only for a few things as we have generous family and friends. The only item we did not get was the Baby ERGO carrier. While I have always preferred the Ergo over other carriers, DH managed to find a decent baby bjorn on freecycle and he was so proud of his find. We are going to just use that for now and see how it goes (I don't want to crush DH's excitement and have always heard that men preferred the baby bjorn over the ergo due to ahem, the bjorn not crushing their body part like the ergo does).
On the bright and weird side, the largest purchase yesterday was a second base for our infant car seat to put in DH's Escape. We have the snugride 32 and BRU says that they are no longer selling the base for the Snugride 32 and to use the Sungride 35 base even though I have the infant seat which is 32. I was always told and always read that we can't use the 35 on a snugride 32. Sure enough, they did a demo and proved to me in the store that you can do this. Honestly, the base of the 35 is identical and same size as the 32 and both infant car seat clicked in interchangeably in both base so we went with a 35 base.
The bright side is that I was able to use my final 20% coupon towards it and also got to use my 15% completion discount on top of that. So we got the base for a good deal. I was surprise the starting price of the base at BRU was at least 10 dollars cheaper at BRU than it was at Target.
If we changed our mind about the ERGO carrier, BRU says we can use the online completion discount code. They say you can use the in store discount code and the online discount code 1 time each separately. Since the completion was 15% instead of 10%, I noticed that I have not received anymore 20% 1 item coupon in the mailing anymore. I hope that is not a permanent thing.

It seems like every BRU has a different policy on the completion coupon. Weird. I've also noticed that BRU has not only not sent any 20% coupons, but they also haven't put them in their store coupon book. And I just realized my last one expired last night...craaap

What a great deal! I still haven't received my completion coupon from BRU, but hopefully I'll get it soon. My shower's on Sunday and I know I'll want to get any last minute things I don't receive at it asap.
It's good to know about the 32 and 35 seats and bases being able to be used interchangeably. I have a feeling no one's going to purchase our extra base on our registry and my BFF has a 32 base (we're getting a 35 seat) that she said we could use, so that will help us out.
I think that because BRUs big trade-in sale is happening now with 25% off coupons, they haven't given out any 20% off ones or aren't until that sales over on I think Sept 19th. When I shopped there yesterday, they handed me a couple of the booklets of coupons and they had 20% off anything, but they weren't valid until end of Sept. Oh well!
This was my other thought and theory towards the 20% coupons. It will be interesting going forward.
That's good to know about the 32 and 35 base. I registered for a 35 because I couldn't find the 32 base but much prefer the 32.

Sounds like a productive trip and yay for completion discounts. Oooh, I thought they had lowered to 10% so if mine is 15% I'll be quite excited. Our 20% off coupons disappeared in the current coupon book also, but they're back in the Sept 20 onward book. Now to get my hot little hands on more of those...
