breathable bumpers?

Does someone here (Malia??) have these? What do you think of them? My dudes have started chucking their pacis through the crib bars so I'm looking for a way to keep them in. Stick out tongue

Haha, same with our dude! But I remember an earlier post about how the breathable bumpers not being so great so I decided not to get it anymore. Instead I just keep multiple pacis in his crib to solve the tossing issue.

We do this too. Big Smile

  • I gots! Had this since Maya was a wee tater-tot:

Never had a prob with it, stops her limbs from falling between the crib bars. Things can still get tossed OVER it, if the kidlet/s want to get 'creative' but it will stop pacis from just falling out.

  • I have them.  I like them, but I'm just starting to think about getting regular ones if he's going to start sleeping in there.

Just be prepared that they will start throwing them over the top of the crib then!

That was me. I don't like ours. If your boys roll or move a lot during the night, they provide zero protection for them against bumping into the wood. I've since stuffed blankets behind the netting, since A moves a lot when he's trying to self-soothe and will probably need protection even more when he starts pulling up.

I think they would keep pacis in, except at the corners where they don't meet and things still fall out.

  • We have them! But I am sorry to say, they do not address the chucking paci issue. Alexa STILL manages to get hers out of the crib!! She is either tossing them, which bodes well for her throwing arm, or pushing them under the bumper. I have yet to catch her. She has 4 pacis in her crib and she seems to always hold onto at least one.

Here are some recent pics I took of her in bed, so you can see how they look... HTH!

So maybe you should just buy like 3 of them and stack them on top of each other so it's more like a baby jail and then they'd have to toss them ALL the way over the top Smile

On a side note, two of my friends kids have climbed over their cribs in the past week. One of the kids is 18 months and one is 14 months. My one friend is thinking of getting this netting thing to put over the top because it's not like you can put a 14 month old in a toddler bed. Kids!!

Jack is in his crib so infrequently but when he is he is always crawling into the sides while sleeping and the hard hit to the head/face instantly wakes him up and scares him so bad - it's traumatizing for all of us.  I put the real bumper that I didn't think I would use on the crib.  It does scare me, but he is so obviously mobile I'm pretty sure it's not a suffocation hazard at this point.  Ugh. so hard to be a parent.

I considered getting actual bumpers (they have good enough head/neck control that I'm not worried about suffocation any more), but they don't really roll around a lot during their sleep...plus the matching bumpers for our crib sets are $99 each (the freaking 3-piece sets were only $114!) so I thought I'd see if a cheaper alternative would work! Judging by the replies, I'm not sure they will...thanks all!

  • Update: DH says that in the morning when Alexa wakes up but I am still sleeping she stands up in the crib and chucks the pacis over the side to make noise. She also rattles them, like toys. LOL. I gotta see if I can catch her doing this... Funny!
