aden + anais

I see these swaddles mentioned all over the boards. I went to their website and can't figure out what's different between them and a regular receiving blanket, except that they're made of muslin. Can someone enlighten me? We currently use the SwaddleMes, with velcro, but thought I'd check these ones out too.

Re: aden + anais

  • I have a set of these; haven't used much else for swaddling so I can't necessarily do a great comparison but here's what I think (I'm no expert). They are square instead of rectandgular and a good large size for one. Yes they are muslin so while they can be warm they breathe and aren't too hot this time of year. I think the main thing I like is that they are stretchy so it is easy to pull them tight for a good, snug fit that DS can't escape.

  • they are made of muslin so they are super thin and also huge.  we happen to love them. A&A's don't have velcro or anything, just huge, extremely thin blankets.  we almost always use the A&A for naptime swaddling and depending on the temp, what LO is wearing, etc... we either still use them for nighttime or the miracle blanket.

we have one package and plan on buying more. they are also good for the carseat, stroller, bf'ing, etc...

  • I have the A+A blankets from Target, which are apparently a little smaller (and also less expensive) than the "regular" A+As, but they're still the only blankets we have that are big enough to swaddle DD.  They're also super soft as you wash them more and more... we keep one in her diaper bag, one in the car, one at home and one at work.  I won't go anywhere without one!!!

  • We have A+A blankets and SwaddleMe's. We love the A+As for many different purposes, as other posters mentioned. However, we still use the SwaddleMe's to swaddle her at night. I actually don't like the A+As for swaddling, but we do it sometimes. Still recommend getting a 4-pack. You'll find many uses for them!

  • I cannot swaddle with these blankets.  I use them during the day when it is hotter in the house.  We use the SwaddleMes at night.  I really like the blankets.  They are soft and really light for the summer.  But they are over $10 a blanket, so NOT cheap.  Nonetheless I am glad I bought them.  They are great for the summer.

  • We too love them and use them for alot of things..covering them up in the air conditioned house, when we go out for walks or to restaurants, doc visits, etc.  We got a set at our baby shower and loved them so much we got 2 more packages.  We no longer use them to swaddle our 2 at night... they escape the A & A blanket swaddle so we have to use the miracle blankets instead.

The A & A muslin blankets are well worth the $$.
