I still don't! I just don't want strangers coming up to him. DH and I went to the mall with him last week and two little kids ran right up to us asking all these questions about the baby. The clearly wanted to touch him - good thing I was holding him. I do take him for walks outside in the carrier and to small family BBQs. He hates his car seat so it's hard to go to a lot of places with him now.
I started taking her out about 2 weeks after her due date, so 2 months old. I think your safe most places, I just don't let anyone touch her. Some crazy lady tried to kiss her when I was at JC Penneys with her a couple months ago, I moved DD so fast! lol

Our first outing was around 6 weeks, a bit more around 13 weeks, increased around 20 weeks and finally just in the last few weeks take him prettty much everywhere. DS had a lot of issues in his first 5 months of life and I was comfortable taking him around a lot. But since hitting the 6 month mark he is a different baby and I can take him anywhere and know he will be ok and of course then I too will be ok!

I did it pretty early on. We took DD to my parents' on day three of her little life (they lived like 10 minutes away, though). I was taking her on walks around the block by 1 week pp, and to the grocery store maybe a couple weeks later.
I still have a hard time... I always have my mom or DH with me too...

A Butterfly lies beside us
like a sunbeam
and for a brief moment,
its beauty and glory
belong to our world.
But then it flies on again.
And though we wish it could have stayed
we feel so lucky to have seen it.
In loving memory of MrsTyson's precious Julia.
